IFC Mens Recruitment Information and FAQ

  1. What are the dates for formal IFC Recruitment? 
    • Formal recruitment will be held September 2 – September 8, 2019. Registration Opens June 1, 2019.  Men interested in participating in formal recruitment should register HERE. During formal recruitment, your student will be able to meet all 12 of our chapters, build backpacks for an elementary school in Fort Worth, hear from a professional speaker and make new friends while going through this process. All of our events will take place in the early evening, ranging from 5:30-10:00 depending on the event. If you have a class you will email J.T. Snyder the VP of Recruitment at JT.SNYDER3535@tcu.edu.
  2. How do I register for IFC men’s recruitment?
    • Starting June 1st, you can register for IFC men’s recruitment by clicking HERE.
  3. Can fraternities contact my student during the summer? I know for sorority recruitment this isn’t allowed.
    • Fraternities are allowed to reach out to your student during the summer. Our groups are also allowed to have summer events and invite your student to those events.
  4. Can my student receive a bid before school starts?
    • This is a tough question…..The complex answer is yes but, it is not a binding agreement until the fraternity provides the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life their bid list and you sign your bid card in front of a Fraternity and Sorority Life Professional. For more information about this question please call the FSL office and speak with a staff member.
  5. Where can I find previous grade reports for fraternities?

  7. What are the average dues for a new member? 
    • Our average dues for a new member is $1,280 for their first semester in the fraternity. That price will go down to an average $1,100 per semester after your student has been initiated.
  8. If I am from out of state what are my odds of receiving a bid?
    • In the Fall of 2018 more students from out of state received bids to fraternities then students from the state of Texas.
  9. Do I need to move on campus early for recruitment?
    • No, you cannot move on campus early for recruitment. You will move onto campus on your assigned move in date. Recruitment will start in the afternoon on September 2, 2019.
  10. How will I receive more information about recruitment after I register?
    • In August roughly two weeks before school starts our Vice President of Recruitment will email all registered PNMs (potential new members) with information about the recruitment and recruitment kick-off.
