Each of the organizations within the TCU fraternity and sorority community is housed within one of five governing councils. The councils are governed by elected student leaders and are responsible for providing programming and other opportunities for the community.

The purpose of the IGC is to serve as a resource for its member organizations and to promote and foster positive fraternal relations, communication, and development of all fraternal organizations through mutual respect, leadership, honesty, professionalism, and education.
Membership in Independent Greek Council organizations is at the discretion of each individual organization. IGC does not facilitate a structured recruitment process for these organizations. The TCU Interfraternity Council serves as the governing body for the thirteen national fraternities on our campus. The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is made up of the president and a delegate from each chapter, as well as the six member executive board elected by the chapters each November. It is the goal and mission of the Interfraternity Council to hold each fraternity in the council up to the standards by which they were founded, some chapters over 150 years ago.

The Multicultural Greek Council at Texas Christian University embodies seven Greek-lettered organizations.
MGC’s purpose is to provide these organizations with a voice within the TCU and Fort Worth community and to also provide them a place to work collaboratively with one another.

On May 10, 1930, on the campus of Howard University, in Washington DC, the National Pan-Hellenic Council was formed as a permanent organization with the following charter members: Omega Psi Phi and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternities, and Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta and Zeta Phi Beta Sororities. In 1931, Alpha Phi Alpha and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternities joined the Council. Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority joined in 1937 and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity completed the list of member organizations in 1997.

Preamble
We, the representatives of historically established community service fraternities and sororities, similar in structure and background with both graduate and undergraduate chapters, recognizing the need for coordination and cooperation in activities of intercollegiate Greek letter fraternities and sororities, and recognizing that there are certain areas of action and programming that can best be realized by formal organization, do hereby establish such an organization.
Purpose
The purpose of the TCU Council shall be to create and maintain high standards in the life of fraternities and sororities; to perpetuate constructive fraternity and sorority relationships; to foster an understanding of the structure and the method of operating among the affiliate organizations; to address, coordinate, and develop action strategies of mutual concern to the affiliate organizations; and to serve as the conduit for such action plans as may be developed.

NPHC does not facilitate a structured recruitment process for these organizations. Panhellenic Council (CPH)
Panhellenic shall be organized in recognition of the need to serve the Greek community to the best of our ability, and to cooperate with the University administration. The Panhellenic Association shall be a forum for the discussion of issues of interest and concern to all members of the Greek community and shall compile rules governing Panhellenic activity on the Texas Christian University campus.
